I’m a professional writer and editor with more than 20 years’ experience, gained both in-house and as a freelancer.
Since going freelance in 2007, I’ve written and edited content for all kinds of clients, from charities to businesses, government bodies to cultural organisations. But my passion lies in editing books. |

Editing for publishers
I’ve edited books across a range of genres for publishers and their authors. One of my main publishing clients has been Wiley: I’ve edited more than 70 For Dummies guides for John Wiley & Sons in the UK and Wiley-VCH in Germany.
I’ve edited academic books for Routledge, Taylor & Francis, educational books for Folens, travel guides for Frommer’s, and history books for Imperial War Museums Publishing. I’ve ghostwritten guides for nurseries in India, and workbooks for pupils in China.
Alongside my non-fiction work, I edit a lot of fiction too. My published clients include Sif Sigmarsdóttir (Hodder), Neil Spring (Quercus), Karen Clarke (Little, Brown) and Rachel Hamilton (Simon & Schuster).
Editing for independent authors
Many of my clients choose to self-publish their books. My indie client list includes Christopher Greyson, who is a Wall Street Journal bestselling crime/thriller author, and Rob Sinclair, whose thrillers have sold more than a million copies worldwide.
For indie authors, I edit all kinds of fiction, from romances and fantasies to historical fiction and children’s books…
… and plenty of non-fiction as well. I help clients to share their stories through memoirs, and to tell others’ stories through biographies. I edit history books, business books, psychology books, self-help books and ‘how-to’ guides.
I work with all kinds of indie authors, from the seasoned writer to the debut novelist. I consider it a privilege and a pleasure to work with all of my clients, and to use my skills and experience to help them realise the dream of publishing their book.

Before going freelance, I built my editorial experience working for a PR agency, a non-profit organisation and a publishing house.
When I'm not editing/writing/reading books, you'll find me out and about with my children. We particularly love exploring historic buildings, museums, art galleries and, of course, bookshops and libraries.
